Results of the Online Seminar on February 4-6

From February 4 to 6, 2026, the RGP at the PHV "Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection" of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IACEP) held an online training seminar on the topic:
"Environmental Control and Management System. Environmental Code and its Law Enforcement".
The training was held in the format of an intensive practical program and was aimed at improving the professional competencies of specialists, as well as forming a unified understanding of the current requirements in the field of environmental regulation and control.

The seminar lasted three days and brought together 34 participants. Six expert lecturers provided a practical analysis of legislative norms and typical situations that arise in the activities of enterprises and organizations.
The seminar program focused on applied issues of environmental regulation and control. The following key topics were covered:

- Industrial environmental control (IEC);
- Automated emission monitoring systems (AEMS);
- Integrated environmental permits (IEP);
- Production and consumption waste management, including man-made mineral waste;
- State environmental control, inspection procedures, and enforcement practices;
- Environmental offenses, administrative liability, and judicial practice;
- Public hearings and specific environmental regulation mechanisms.

The seminar was attended by representatives of industrial and energy companies, subsoil use organizations, design and engineering companies, as well as higher education institutions and research and educational organizations.

Participants included:

-Urikhtau Operating (a group company of JSC NC KazMunayGas);
-Ust-Kamenogorsk Thermal Power Plant;
-Kubley LLP;
-Abai Kazakh National University;
-Sh. Ualikhanov Kokshetau University;
-West Kazakhstan Innovation and Technology University;
-Institute of High Technologies, Branch of Kazakhstan Nuclear University.

Participants noted the practical value of the seminar, the systematic presentation of the material, and the opportunity to receive clarification on complex provisions of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as discuss operational issues and typical cases.
The Institute of Environmental Management and Environmental Protection will continue to implement training programs aimed at developing specialist competencies, improving the quality of environmental management, and enhancing law enforcement practices in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
