Offline Seminar on Environmental Control and Enforcement of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan Held in Astana

From February 18 to 20, 2026, the RSE on JSC "Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection" of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan held an offline training seminar in Astana on the topic: "Environmental Control and Management System. Environmental Code and its Enforcement".
The event became a professional platform for discussing current issues of environmental regulation, state control practices, and the introduction of modern management tools in the activities of enterprises.
Practical-oriented format
The seminar was held in the format of a three-day intensive face-to-face training and brought together 21 participants - representatives of the industrial sector, subsoil users, and educational organizations.
The program was built with an emphasis on applied aspects of law enforcement: participants received systematic explanations of legislation, considered real production cases, and discussed problematic issues arising in the course of environmental activities of enterprises.

The participation of enterprises and organizations of various profiles highlighted the inter-industry nature of the seminar and the high interest in compliance with the requirements of the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Key areas of the program:
Within the framework of the seminar, strategically important issues of environmental regulation were thoroughly considered:
- principles of environmental safety and the basics of environmental legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- mechanisms of state environmental control and the procedure for conducting inspections;
- organization of industrial environmental control (IEC);
- legal regulation of the handling of man-made mineral waste (MMW);
- operation of automated emission monitoring systems (AEMS);
- regulation of waste management and disposal, as well as wastewater;
- procedure for obtaining a comprehensive environmental permit (CEP);
- current changes and amendments to the Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- conducting public hearings and issues of administrative practice.
Expert support
The lecturers were experts from the profile departments of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as independent industry specialists with practical experience in law enforcement and support of environmental projects.
The offline format ensured a direct professional dialogue between representatives of the authorized body and the business community, allowing participants to receive official explanations on the application of legislative norms and develop practical solutions for further work.
The Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection continues its systematic work to improve the professional competence of specialists in the field of environmental regulation and develop sustainable mechanisms of environmental management in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
