April 24: Panel Session on the Application of Modern Digital Solutions and AI Technologies to Environmental Issues

On April 24, 2026, as part of the third day of the Regional Environmental Summit in Astana, a thematic panel session was held, dedicated to the use of modern digital solutions and artificial intelligence technologies in the environmental sphere.
The organizers were the RSE "Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection" of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The discussion was attended by international experts, including Olena Bura and Nicholas Smith.
The session's moderator, IDC Vice President Andrey Beklemishev, outlined key areas for dialogue and collaboration. Askhat Kozhumov, Director General of the Institute of Environmental Analysis and Control (IAAC), presented the implementation of AI analytics in environmental studies in collaboration with the IT company KazDevLab. Nazgul Bazhaeva, Director of the Department of Digital Development of Regions (MIDC RK), spoke about AI-based G2C projects, and Azamat Kauazov, Coordinator of the Central Asian Climate Information Platform, discussed the capabilities of the Central Asian Climate Portal.
The session served as an effective platform for exchanging experiences and developing approaches to developing intersectoral cooperation and promoting a sustainable agenda in the region.
