Digitalization of the Environmental Industry: New Approaches and Joint Projects Discussed

A meeting on digital transformation of the environmental industry was held at the Center for Digital Government Support with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its subordinate organizations, as well as organizations in the field of digitalization and environmental regulation.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Sainovich Kurmalayev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control Alibek Muratovich Bekmukhametov, General Director of the Republican State Enterprise on the Right of Economic Management "Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection" Askhat Sultanbekovich Kozhumov, Director of the Department of JSC "NIT" Zhanaris Daniyarovich Aliyev, Technical Director of LLP "KazDevLab" Askhat Adilbekovich Mamyrzhanov, General Director of LLP "PKR Ken-dala" Adiyar Zarlykovich Maksutov, as well as Chairman of the Board of the Association of Investors of Kazakhstan Rustam Manarbekovich Zhursunov.
The meeting discussed key areas for implementing the Ministry's Digital Transformation Map, approved on September 25, 2025, which aims to improve internal processes, enhance the department's operational efficiency, and develop digital solutions in the environmental sector.
Particular attention was paid to business process reengineering, automation of government services, development of risk management systems, digitalization of permitting procedures, automation of environmental emission monitoring, and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in environmental monitoring.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in implementing joint projects aimed at further digitalization of the environmental sector, improving the quality of environmental monitoring, and enhancing the environmental protection system.
