Development of the EcoAgent Intellectual System for Environmental Analysis

Astana, June 17, 2026 — The RSE «Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection» (hereinafter referred to as IAC EP) under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports on the development of the EcoAgent intellectual system for environmental analysis. The project is aimed at a qualitative transformation of state environmental control and optimization of the processes for collecting and analyzing data on the state of the environment.

Precursors to creation

In modern conditions, environmental monitoring is associated with the processing of large amounts of unstructured data: reports of environmental control, data from automated monitoring systems, permitting documents, and inspection results. Manual analysis of such volumes of information inevitably leads to risks of human error. The creation of the EcoAgent platform was a logical step towards the digitalization of environmental protection activities.

Key capabilities of EcoAgent

The EcoAgent platform is a comprehensive analytical solution:

-Automated cross-analysis: Intelligent linking of data from various sources — the National Data Bank, e-License, enterprises, ERAP, and ERSOR. The system instantly compares actual emission indicators with established limits.
-Intelligent work with automated monitoring systems: The AI module analyzes data from automated monitoring systems in real-time, identifying excesses of norms and other violations without the participation of an inspector.
-Risk management: A proactive system for assessing objects of environmental control. AI assigns risk ratings to enterprises, allowing inspectors of the Committee for Environmental Regulation and Control (hereinafter referred to as CERC) to focus on the most problematic areas.
-Visualization and reporting: An interactive map of the environmental situation provides a complete picture of the situation by region, industry, and pollutant, while the automated system for processing environmental control reports reduces document processing time from several days to minutes.

Technological infrastructure

The system is based on advanced computing power — the project has been successfully deployed on the Alem.Cloud supercomputer of JSC «NIIT» with 8 GPUs, which provides unprecedented data processing speed and scalability.

Pilot implementation and prospects

At the current stage, the system is undergoing pilot testing at the five largest industrial enterprises in the country, including TSHO, Kaztsink, Aluminum of Kazakhstan, ANPZ, and Kazakhmys Smelting. 21 regional accounts of CERC employees have already been connected to the platform.
