IACEP Participated in the Opening of 'Caspian Sea Action Week 2026'

On August 6, 2026, in the city of Aktau, the official opening of the international week of actions in support of the Caspian Sea 'Caspian Sea Action Week 2026' took place.

The event brought together representatives of eight states and became an international platform for discussing current issues of preserving the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea.

The international week was attended by representatives of the Caspian states, as well as representatives of volunteer communities from Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and about 150 young people from 20 regions of the country.

The opening ceremony was attended by the General Director of the RSE on the Right of Economic Management 'Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection' of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kozhumov Askhат Sultanbekovich.

Among the guests of the event was also the Director of the Department of Environmental Culture and Policy of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yesmagambetov Daulet Bekbattyrovich.

The Akim of the Mangystau region, Kilybay Nurdaulet Igilikovich, delivered a welcoming speech. Via video conference, the leaders and representatives of the Atyrau region, as well as the cities of Baku, Astrakhan, and Balkanabat, joined the opening ceremony.

'Caspian Sea Action Week 2026' aims to draw attention to the environmental state of the Caspian Sea, strengthen international and interregional cooperation, exchange experiences, and unite efforts to preserve its unique ecosystem.

IACEP's participation in the event continued the Center's systematic work on developing environmental interaction, increasing environmental responsibility, and promoting initiatives in the field of environmental protection.
