12.08.2026

On August 12, on the Day of the Caspian, in the city of Aktau, a solemn closing ceremony of the international volunteer week 'Caspian Sea Action Week – 2026' took place. The RSE on JSC 'Information and Analytical Center for Environmental Protection' of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan (IACEP) participated in the week's events.

The international volunteer week was held from August 6 to 12 and brought together delegations from eight countries — Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, as well as representatives of government agencies, international organizations, expert communities, environmentalists, volunteers, and youth.

The main goal of 'Caspian Sea Action Week – 2026' was to unite the efforts of the Caspian region countries and the international community in preserving the unique ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, developing environmental volunteering, increasing environmental responsibility, and strengthening international cooperation.

As part of the week-long program, IACEP representatives participated in key events dedicated to pressing environmental issues of the Caspian Sea, the development of joint scientific research, the introduction of modern technological solutions, environmental education, and the expansion of international interaction.

During the week, expert and discussion platforms, facilitation sessions, an international Caspian Hackathon, meetings of experts and eco-volunteers, and other events were held, aimed at developing practical initiatives to preserve the Caspian.

The international week ended with a solemn cultural program, presenting the national heritage and musical traditions of the eight countries. As part of the ceremony, the international anthem of volunteers 'VOLUNTEERS OF THE WORLD' was presented for the first time.

'Caspian Sea Action Week – 2026' has become a significant international platform for open dialogue, experience exchange, and formation of new joint initiatives. Mangystau has united representatives of different countries around a common goal — preserving the Caspian Sea for future generations.

One Caspian — one responsibility, one space for cooperation, and one common future.
